About Naperville Cemetery, Naperville
The Naperville Cemetery located in downtown Naperville in DuPage County dates back to 1842. Captain Joe Naper, the founder of Naperville, as well as many other notable Naperville families, are buried here. Many historians visit the cemetery and Naper Settlement semi-annually conducts tours highlighting the historical sites located within the cemetery. This is a resting place for Naperville history.
The not-for-profit Naperville Cemetery was incorporated on December 23, 1875, with the State of Illinois and was named The Naperville Cemetery Association. The Association is governed by a volunteer board of directors.
